ONE OF EACH YEAR

1976 + 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.o

I’ve been always attracted by the not-so-glamorous, the not-in-the-spotlight ones, don’t know why, you should probably ask my therapist if I would have one. Anyway, the Carrera 3.o appealed to me as an underdog, you might even go so far as to say, the most underrated air-cooled 911. When I bought the first one, a 1976, I knew I was going to get a 1977 one as well. Took about a year, meanwhile I restored the neglected 1976 to factory spec. And then I got the one I was looking for and fell in love with it right away. Truth be told, the 1976 seemed so outdated when I had the first ride in the 1977. Power-assisted brakes is just one thing, but a major one. Get a Carrera 3.o, it is much more rewarding than any other air-cooled 911.

About the video

Just a little garage video. My garage back in Germany, full of tools and stuff and my two Carrera 3.o. One from each year, a black 1976 Carrera 3.o, technically finished in November of 1975 and the silver 1977 Carrera 3.o, finished in October of 1976. Eleven month in between but worlds apart, not just for me. Restored the black one over a few years, the silver one just got a few upgrades and a paint job. Lovely cars.
