Momo Jacky Ickx Steering Wheel

A Signature Series cornerstone that bridges OEM engineering and pure racing design.

A Signature wheel with OEM DNA

The Jacky Ickx steering wheel is one of the most important foundations within the Momo Signature Series.

It is not just a standalone design — it became a base platform for multiple OEM applications and special variants across different manufacturers.

Ferrari used it. Volvo used it. And Momo used it again for its own Signature Series variations.

That alone places it in a different category compared to more isolated Signature designs.

A base that appears everywhere

The same core structure appears across several well-known applications:

  • Ferrari 246 Dino steering wheel
  • Volvo R-series steering wheels (engraved center numbers such as 552032 / 552033 / 552034)
  • Momo Gilles Villeneuve Signature wheel (derived version with center pad)
  • Momo Taveri

It’s a platform rather than a single identity. That also explains why it feels so familiar across different cars and eras.

First Signature wheel with dual sizing

The Jacky Ickx was also the first Signature model offered in two diameters:

320 mm
350 mm

This was a clear shift in how Momo positioned steering wheels — no longer one fixed standard, but different sizes for different driving contexts.

Both versions were offered in black and silver, keeping the visual identity consistent across variants.

Horn buttons – evolution in detail

The Jacky Ickx horn button exists in multiple generations.

Early versions feature a chrome ring around the helmet-style button.
Later versions move to a cleaner plastic ring design.

Signature variants also appeared in different finishes:

Black with silver signature
Beige with silver signature

A dedicated Signature horn button exists alongside the helmet versions, reinforcing its position within the series.

Jacky Ickx – the name behind the wheel

Jacky Ickx was one of the most versatile drivers of his generation, competing across motorcycles, Formula 1, endurance racing, and rally raid events.

He won six times at Le Mans and remained one of the defining figures in endurance racing for decades.

In Formula 1, he secured 8 Grand Prix victories and finished twice as World Championship runner-up.

His career was defined less by a single title and more by range — success across completely different disciplines.

Why this wheel matters

The Jacky Ickx steering wheel is not defined by rarity.

It is defined by reach.

It connects OEM production, racing heritage, and the internal logic of the Signature Series in a way few other wheels do.

A platform design that became a signature — and then became a standard again.
