350mm Momo semi-dish steering wheel linked to Virgilio Conrero motorsport applications.

Some steering wheels don’t start in a catalogue.
They start in a conversation.
This one began with an email.
A steering wheel, bought years ago at a Porsche swap meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Initially intended for a Porsche 924 Turbo — later moved into a 1973 911T — and eventually ending up as a piece without clear identity, but with enough questions attached to it to take a closer look.
That is usually where things become interesting.

At first sight it looks like a Momo Jackie Stewart but it isn’t.
It has a semi-dish and the rim is not as thick as the Momo Jackie Stewart. The diameter is 350mm, like quite a number of Momo steering wheels.
Over time, different versions of this wheel appear.
Some with:
When present, the Virgilio Conrero signature was originally located on the right spoke, but in many cases it has faded or disappeared over time.
Some examples show an additional logo on the center spoke.
This is not part of the original production specification and appears to be a later addition.

The aluminium finish varies between examples.
Two common explanations are:
No two wheels tend to age in exactly the same way.
Virgilio Conrero was an Italian automotive engineer and racing team manager.
He is known for performance tuning and motorsport engineering work, starting with Alfa Romeo in the early 1950s and later expanding to multiple manufacturers including Renault, Ford, Toyota, Honda and others.
His company Autotecnica Conrero became active in various racing disciplines over several decades, including touring car and endurance racing.
The Momo Virgilio Conrero steering wheel is a Momo-built special linked to a specific motorsport identity.
It sits outside standard product evolution and represents one of the many commissioned wheels created for racing-related branding and applications.
Not a catalogue model in the usual sense — but a documented piece of motorsport context.
